Northeast Lincoln,

Thank you for the opportunity to represent you in the Nebraska Legislature.

As I finish my first legislative session as your State Senator, I wanted to let you know what I've done to keep the promises I made while campaigning door-to-door last year.

We had some big wins: eliminating the marriage penalty in Nebraska's income tax, supporting military families, and helping thwart efforts to raise the gas tax. The Legislature passed a modest tax relief package.

But there were some disappointments, too. We worked hard for real, substantive property tax relief and we tried to cut the sales tax. We also took on the Governor, who is trying to balance the state's budget on the backs of senior citizens and children by cutting funding for Meals on Wheels and special education.

It's an honor to serve as your State Senator, and I'd love to hear from you about your concerns or ideas for legislation. You may reach me by phone at 471-2610 or by email. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
